The JLens Story
2012
JLens was Founded as a nonprofit
by Harvard Business School and JPMorgan alumna, Julie Hammerman, as a project to explore a Jewish lens on investing after she completed the Wexner Foundation’s Jewish Heritage program.
2016
The Jewish Advocacy Strategy SMA launched
the only screening, research and advocacy strategy conducting shareholder advocacy on Jewish communal concerns with the largest U.S. public companies.
2022
JLens became an affiliate of ADL
to strengthen efforts to fight anti-Israel and antisemitic policies and actions in the values-based investment field.
2024
JLens became a Registered Investment Advisor
registered with the SEC.
As corporations play a greater role in shaping our society and world, the Jewish community needs a united investor voice to combat the threats of antisemitism, Israel delegitimization, and all forms of hate. There is an opportunity to shape corporate and investor behavior for positive impact, inspired by Jewish values.
JLens’ Jewish Investor Network now represents over 30 Jewish institutions, representing more than $11 billion in Jewish community investment capital.
These institutions, which include Federations, Jewish Community Foundations, Day Schools, Nonprofit Organization, Private Foundations and Synagogues, have invested $300M in products licensing JLens’ Jewish screening, research and advocacy strategy (“Jewish Advocacy Strategy”) since 2016. On behalf of the Jewish community, JLens conducts research and advocacy with the U.S. public corporations held in this screening strategy.
