As there is no perfect company, attempts to solely screen out ‘bad actors’ or only invest in ‘good actors’ miss the greatest opportunity for impact through shareholder advocacy. This “own and advocate” approach allows us to maintain ownership in companies where we can engage as shareholders and advocate for positive change aligned with Jewish communal interests, rather than simply divesting.  If we divest from a company, we lose our rights as a shareholder and give up a seat at the table.

JLens uses divestment as a last resort, once all advocacy efforts have been exhausted.
